Claudia Besser Hierro
Claudia has always been drawn to the sea. Having grown up in northern New Jersey, family vacations were spent at the beautiful beaches of the Jersey shore and New England. Claudia spent all year looking forward to those few weeks spent blissfully collecting shells, taking long walks on the beach, and perusing the art galleries. She loved hearing the sounds of waves breaking on the shore, seagulls squawking overhead, and the mournful din of halyards clanging against the mast of a nearby sailboat. These sounds and images provided the inspiration to begin painting, and Claudia would often set up her easel and paint the dunes and marinas en plein air.
Today, Claudia calls beautiful Naples, Florida her home, which is a source of endless inspiration for her work. Claudia paints with oil, which has a richness and fluidity that works well with her subject matter. She hopes that her work will elicit a connection with nature that inspires the viewer.
